Not sure whether or not I'm finished with this one. I almost want to give it a background, even if it's just a little texture to break up the white, but at the same time, the stark, simple background just emphasizes the bird and textures I used. So it might be fine as-is. Colored hi-tec-c on bristol, referenced from a photo in 'Extraordinary Chickens'

Apparently if I have ATC-sized cards marked out on scrap board, I draw on them when I get bored of the computer. I must remember this. This is the rare and elusive Catlike Owlmonkey. They are probably rare because they are too stupid to procreate intentionally and it only happens by accident. Wrap your brain around that one. This was mostly an exercise in greys- There are probaby only 9-10 markers used here that -aren't- grey, though if I said four, you'd probably believe that, too. But there are TWO bluegreens, two yellows in the eyes, and about 5-6 different browns. But it's MOSTLY greys. Maybe only one or two cool greys, a couple neutral greys, a few toner greys, and a couple warm greys. Hah.

Primates Color Studies by chlorophyta

ATC- sized color studies for an Illustration Media class illustration I'm working on. The theme is "Sci-Fi" and the final is going to be acrylic. I don't usually do this many color studies for my illustrations, but since they were so small (only took a couple hours each &__&), I was able to go past the first color study I did, which was 'good enough,' but I still felt I could push the color further. The second study I learned from the first one and ended up with a whole new set of mistakes. But I think the third one nails it pretty well, and that's the main one that I'm going to be working from for the final. AND THEY'RE ATCs!!
