Commissioned icon for Lavacat.

You can get a new Graphire or a used Intuos for $100 to $150. Set aside $10-$15 a month and you'll be able to get one in less than a year. =) For an artist, it's one of the most worthwhile purchases you can make!

Most, most excellent, Nevar. I like how you left the sketchy lines underneath everything, adds a very nice, 'authentic' touch to this that super-clean art often lacks.

Thanks! I'll clean up sketchy lines that are getting in the way of important details or features, but most of the rest I leave. I think they add to the life of the sketch. ^___^

woah you got some cool effects going on with that in that program! Its so great when you have to really squint to tell if its real media or digital XD

I discovered the crayon tool this past weekend, it has a similar look to the pastel, but it's a little sharper and easier for me to control. So I started with pastel on this for the big blocks of color, and then used crayon for a while, and finally the pencil tool for little details.
I also found I intuit the color palette a lot better when its SV:H instead of default HS:V, but for some reason after I changed it, the color pickers had a tendency to not stay put exactly where I left them which was very frustrating. =/

Yeah the crayon tool is what I use the most I've found, it gets a really nice edge to it. ANd how do you change the color palette back and forth? I'm still learning the program...

There's a little triangle next to the current color- click on that. And don't feel bad, I found it totally by accident. XD

oh woah awesome!! Thank you :) I personally have an easier time with the LS/H picker cuz its like photoshop and thats what I'm accustomed to. THat and that triangular picker they have in painter. I wasn't quite liking the default picker in ArtRage but this solves it! God they thought of everything o_O Even the litle reference photo thing..I did that for my Evergreen badge, I didn't have to have multiple firefox windows open or photoshop open! :D
