I've been working on values lately. Making the focus of the image either light on dark or dark on light. Its making me see how much I still need to improve, artwise. XD

Cool ended up going with the one I liked. Came out great! So like people were discussing on the forum, you do kinda marker base/midtones and then pencils for the shading and highlights or something?

That's basically the idea. I try to get in as much of the color and value information as I can with marker first, then I do touch-ups, details, hilights, and some texture with colored pencil. It varies quite a bit from each piece, but the overall process stays about the same from one image to the next. Sometimes I need a lot of colored pencil, sometimes hardly any.
